Yesterday, the Quetta Gladiators beat the Karachi Kings by 5 wickets. Here is the ball-by-ball analysis and scorecard of the match.
Another bowler from the Gladiators shined at Sharjah but this time it was not Nawaz, it was Grant Elliot who picked up his second man of the match award by taking a career based 4 for 15. This victory meant that the Gladiators sealed a spot in the PSL play-offs.
Grant Elliot’s 4 for 15 carved through the batting order of the Kings and restricted them to a definate below par score of 126 for 9. Karachi’s captain Shoaib Malik top-scored with 45, but nobody else made more than 23, as the Kings failed to get any momentum through the middle overs. Anwar Ali, Zulfiqar Babar, Aizaz Cheema and Mohammad Nabi snatched a batsman each as the Gladiators were left to score just 6 an over.
Ahmed Shahzad ensured that the Gladiators had the game clenched in their fists for most of the chase. Kings did get blows in the middle but those were not enough to get the win as healthy knocks from Kevin Pieterson (26) and Sarfaraz Ahmed (29) lifted Quetta to their fifth win of the inaugural season of the HBL PSL.
