HBL PSL Match 13 – United vs Zalmi

Hey Guys,

Yesterday, Peshawar Zalmi beat Islamabad United by 7 wickets. Here is the ball-by-ball analysis and scorecard of the match.

Tamim Iqbal stroked his 3rd fifty of the HBL PSL and this time a 58 ball 80 guiding Zalmi to a 7 wicket win over United at Sharjah. This victory meant that Zalmi took the top spot at the table after 5 games. The defeat for United meant that they were at the near bottom, being precise at number 4.

Zalmi were set 153 for victory, they lost Mohammed Hafeez early but Tamim Iqbal kept the runs going with hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes in his knock. 2 more quick wickets of Jim Allenby and Kamran Akmal gave United some hope of winning but it was not enough for the victory. Shahid Yousuf worked with Tamim Iqbal and Zalmi got home with 9 balls to spare.

Earlier, Islamabad’s 152 for 6 had been built on the back of a bright half-century from Khalid Latif, who smoked four sixes during a 41-ball 59. Latif received support from the captain Misbah-ul-Haq, but when he got out the team struggled to accelerate at the death overs. Shaun Tait (1 for 18), Mohammad Asghar (2 for 25) and Wahab Riaz (2 for 24) all produced economical spells to ensure that Peshawar’s target was a reachable one.

Peace Out,

The Cornered Tiger
